Walter Stahr is general counsel for EMP Global, based in Washington
DC, responsible for legal issues across the range of the firm's funds
and activities. He joined EMP in early 1999 and focused his attention
initially on the firm's Asian funds. He has previously worked as
Senior Counsel for Fidelity Investments, based in Hong Kong, as
Special Counsel to the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange
Commission, based in Washington, and as an Associate at Cleary,
Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, based in Washington and Hong Kong. He is
also the author of John Jay: Founding Father, a well-received
biography of the first Chief Justice of the United States. Mr. Stahr
holds degrees from Stanford University (AB in Political Science), the
Kennedy School (Masters in Public Policy) and the Harvard Law School
(JD cum laude).
