Dr. Charles Kesler is a professor of goverment and the director of the Salvatori Center for the Study of Individual Freedom in the Modern World at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. Kesler received his A.B. in Social Studies and his A.M. and Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University. He is the editor of and contributor to Saving the Revolution: The Federalist papers and the American Founding and has written extensively on American constitutionalism and American political thought. He is co-editor, with William F. Buckley, Jr., of Keeping the Tablets: Modern American Conservative Thought. His articles on contemporary politics have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, Policy Review, National Review, The weekly Standard, Speakout.com, and other journals. Dr. Kesler recently finished a new edition of the Federalist Papers, available from Penguin-Putnam, Inc. He is currently writing a book on the political theory and practice of the American Founders and is editing another on the polictical philosophy of American Progressivism.
